THE
VILLAGE PEOPLE
The "VILLAGE
PEOPLE" is an organization of
involved citizens of the Town of
Lakewood Village, established and
sponsored by a member of Town Council in
accordance with Resolution #05-05.
Their primary goal
is to encourage community involvement to
support our Town Council in maintaining
our quality of life in the growth of our
Town, embrace our current neighbors,
make welcome all new citizens, and
coordinate seasonal events of interest
to our citizens. The organization's
expenses are paid by proceeds of fund
raising events, sponsorships, donations,
and Town Council approved budget
expenditures.
The VPC's goal is
to generate funds to support future
projects for the community. Current
suggestions include a covered school bus
stop, town park basketball court for our
teens, support the needs of our
"seasoned citizens", and supporting any
emergency assistance for our neighbors.
The Committee is
sponsored by Mayor Mike
Schnittker. The following is a list of
subcommittees, chairs and contact
information. Anyone interested in
volunteering or contributing to the
goals of these committees, please
contact the Committee Chair.

Committee Chaired by Shelley Schnittker.
A team of
volunteers continually work to visit and welcome all new
residents.
The
2009 Easter Egg Hunt was a wonderful success.
"Thank You" to the Little Elm Fire Department for bringing the Easter Bunny to
Town Hall. And thanks to the Easter Bunny for making time in his busy
schedule to spend the morning with us. The VPC invites you to enjoy
pictures from the event and make plans to attend
next year.

Lakewood Village"
The entire
community and their families came
together to produce a very special
Cookbook which reflects the special
character of our Village. Cookbooks are
available for $12.00 to fund future
community events and projects. Please
contact the VPC for information. It is
truly a gift that keeps on giving.

Hands Chaired by Carinna Funderburk

The committee will provide temporary
support and assistance in special times
of need through the volunteer efforts of
neighbors and friends within the
community. The Committee is
establishing a network of volunteers to
be available to cook meals, run errands,
assist with emergency home needs, give a
break to new parents, and other
resources on an as needed basis in
response to our neighbor's needs.
Please contact the committee if you are
interested in joining as a volunteer or
if you want to refer a neighbor in need.
All contacts will be confidential and
respect the privacy of our neighbors.
