Dale served in the U.S. Air Force, Air Training Command, during Vietnam.  While in the Air Force he was an electronics instructor in the radio radar field.  He was responsible for the instruction of military personnel on cryptographic field communications equipment.  Although primarily based out of Lackland Air Force Base, Dale also served at Langley AFB and spent some time "on loan" to the U.S. Navy on the USS Triton, an atomic powered submarine (the first submarine to complete a submerged circumnavigation of the world), teaching classified cryptographic equipment to the Naval personnel on-board. Due to the specialization of Dale's expertise, he was called on to teach cryptographics to all the branches of the military.

Dale was honored to serve as organist for the chapel services at Lackland AFB and served as the squadron representative for military funeral services.  Dale recalls, with a heavy heart, presenting the U.S. flag to many next of kin during those services.

Following his military service Dale began a very successful career as a high tech instructor, teaching the collection and processing of seismographic data from the ocean floor for oil exploration.  Dale taught on seismographic ocean vessels all over the world.  He went on to teach fiber optics and satellite telecommunications, world wide.

Dale is now retired and enjoys spending time with his family and spoiling his three granddaughters.  He does voice work for the "What's the Message" webcast which is produced by Lamb of God Lutheran Church in Flower Mound, Texas.  Dale is also active in Post 182 of the American Legion.
