Elections

The City Secretary serves as the Chief Election Official for the Town of Lakewood Village. All Elections are conducted in accordance with the Texas Election Code. The regular Election will be held annually on the first Saturday in May or such other date, as required by the Texas Election Code. All municipal elections shall be publicized in accordance with the Texas Election Code.

The mayor and five council members are elected at-large.

A Candidate for City Council:

• Shall be 21 years of age
• Shall be a Qualified Voter
• Shall reside within the corporate limits of the town for at least six months prior to filing date
• Shall reside in the State of Texas for at least twelve months prior to filing date
• Shall comply with all other town ordinances or resolutions that may be applicable
