Electricity

Electric Service — CoServ (Required)

Subdivisions: The Village, The Shores, South Oak

Tip: Have your new service address, move-in date, and a government-issued ID ready. You’ll create a SmartHub online account to manage billing and usage.

Electric Service — Provider of Your Choice

Subdivisions: The Arbors, The Enclave, Northshore

These neighborhoods are in a deregulated area. You may pick any Retail Electric Provider (REP). Here are three well-known options:

Want to compare all providers? Use the State of Texas’ official marketplace: PowerToChoose.org. Enter your ZIP code to see plans, rates, and contract details side-by-side.

What you’ll need
  • New service address and desired start date
  • Government-issued ID and SSN (for credit check/deposit assessment)
  • Email/phone for confirmations and outage alerts
Internet Service Providers

Internet Service Providers

All subdivisions in Lakewood Village are served by the same internet service providers. Below are the main options to get connected:

Tip: Use each provider’s availability checker to confirm service at your specific address. Fiber availability may vary street by street.

What you’ll need to set up service
  • Service address and desired start date
  • Government-issued ID and SSN (for credit check / deposits)
  • Email address and phone number for account setup
  • Property access for installation (if new line or equipment is needed)
Cluster Mailbox Keys

Cluster Mailbox Keys

Mail is delivered to cluster box units (CBUs), not curbside. If you’re moving in and need a mailbox key, follow the steps below.

1) Visit the Serving Post Office

USPS — Little Elm Post Office
1012 W Eldorado Pkwy, Little Elm, TX 75068
Check current hours
Phone: 972-292-1864 or 1-800-ASK-USPS

Bring a government-issued photo ID and proof you live at the address (closing docs, deed, or lease/utility).

2) Tell USPS You Need a Key

  • If the previous owner didn’t provide keys, request a lock change and new keys for your CBU compartment.
  • USPS may have you complete PS Form 1094 — Request for Post Office Box Key or Lock Service and pay a small lock/key fee (amount varies by location).
  • USPS will change the lock and notify you when your keys are ready for pickup.

Helpful Notes
  • Who issues keys? For USPS-owned CBUs, keys/locks are handled by the local Post Office. If a CBU is privately owned/managed (some condos/HOAs), contact the property manager instead.
  • Documentation needed: Photo ID + proof of occupancy/ownership (lease, deed, or recent utility). Bring your exact street address and unit number.
  • Fees & timing: A lock/key fee is typical; exact cost and turnaround are set locally by USPS. Ask the Little Elm counter staff for current details.
  • Parcel lockers: Packages too large for your mailbox may be placed in a parcel locker. USPS leaves a one-time use key in your box to open the locker.

Questions? Start with the Little Elm Post Office (above) or the USPS FAQs on locked mailboxes and keys.

Alert Notifications

Lakewood Village Alert Notifications (Everbridge)

Starting in 2025, Lakewood Village will operate its own dedicated alert notification system powered by Everbridge. Unlike the past, when residents had to rely on Denton County or neighboring communities’ alerts, this system will deliver Lakewood Village–specific messages directly to you.

  • How to Enroll
Register for Lakewood Village Alerts (coming soon)
Once launched, this link will allow you to sign up for notifications targeted specifically to Lakewood Village residents.
  • What Types of Alerts Will I Receive?
    • Severe weather warnings
    • Local road closures or hazards
    • Town service updates (e.g., water, trash, utility interruptions)
    • Community safety notices
    • Town hall meetings or urgent announcements
  • Everbridge Mobile App
    Download the Everbridge App
Once available, search for “Lakewood Village” to subscribe directly via the app.

New for 2025: This dedicated service replaces the need to piggyback on county or nearby city alerts. Only Lakewood Village residents who enroll will receive these notifications.

What to Expect After Registration
  • A confirmation message (SMS or email) after signing up
  • Alerts customized for Lakewood Village only
  • Options to update contact info or unsubscribe at any time
  • Multiple channels supported: text, phone, email, and app push notifications

More details will be provided once the official registration link is published. For general information on how Everbridge works, visit the Everbridge Support Center.

North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA)

North Texas Tollway Authority (NTTA)

The NTTA operates toll roads in the North Texas region. Here’s how you can set up a TollTag, pay tolls, and get help if you run into issues.

Tip: Using a TollTag saves you money. Drivers without a TollTag are billed via ZipCash (pay-by-mail) and pay higher rates.

Additional Notes & Tips
  • Tolls for NTTA’s TEXpress lanes are also billed through NTTA.
  • If you use a non-NTTA tag (e.g. interoperable ones), NTTA accepts many of them but billing is integrated through their system.
  • Need assistance on the road? Dial **#999** from a mobile phone for free roadside safety services on NTTA roads.
  • Keep your account in good standing—late tolls sent via ZipCash can accrue fees, and repeated nonpayments may lead to restrictions on vehicle registration renewal.
  • To dispute a toll charge or request adjustment, contact NTTA Customer Service.}

Local Emergency Services - Dial 911 for Emergencies

Local Emergency Services

Lakewood Village does not operate its own fire or police departments. Instead, services are provided through regional partnerships:

For all emergencies, always dial 911. Calls are automatically dispatched to the correct agency (Little Elm Fire or Denton County Sheriff).

Additional Notes
  • Firefighters from Little Elm Fire Department also handle emergency medical response (ambulance/paramedic services).
  • The Denton County Sheriff’s Office provides patrol, crime investigation, and other police services within Lakewood Village town limits.
  • Residents may also use the Sheriff’s non-emergency numbers to request wellness checks, report suspicious activity, or handle non-urgent issues.
